I went on a week-long biking trip in Alberta, Canada with a group of strangers organized by the amazing Berkeley adventure travel company, Backroads. I was originally going with my friend, Laura, but things got crazy with her work and stuff and it didn't happen as planned. Even so, she gave me the air ticket as a birthday present, and I went alone and had a great time!
There are two ways to view these images, which are in three sizes. The middle size, which you see here, may be enlarged by clicking on the image, or downloaded by alt-clicking. Images are divided by days, to reduce the wait time per page, but it can still take a long time on a slow connection. The second way to look at the images is by their thumbnails by clicking on the link below.
From the thumbnails page, you can jump to a large version of any image, and from there move forwards or backwards through the set, which is ordered chronologically, with the exception of the first image in the thumbnails set, which is a full-sized original of the entire group on the final day.

The initial day was spent in travel from the bay area to Calgary by plane, then by bus from Calgary to Banff. The whole trip took about 6 hours, leaving me some time to explore the town and admire the views.
I arrived in Calgary on Sunday and took a bus to Banff, where I shared a YWCA dorm room with 9 other guys. (What does the "W" stand for in YWCA?)
